침입탐지 시스템은 전통적인 방화벽이 탐지할 수 없는 악의적인 네트워크 트래픽 및 컴퓨터 사용을 탐지하기 위해 필요하다. 이것은 취약한 서비스에 대한 네트워크 공격과 어플리케이션에서의 데이터처리 공격 그리고 권한상승 및 침입자 로그인, 멀웜 등과 같은 호스트기반 공격을 포함한다. 이에 대한 개념과 유형, 차단방안 등에 대해 학습한다.

Traditionally the fire-wall system and the intrusion detection system can not detect malicious network traffics. So we need a some methods to detect the malicious network traffics. In this course, we will study the effective methods that can protect from the following attacks. The network attacks to the vulnerable services, privilege escalation attacks, and intruders login are our major studying subjects.
