전 지구적 갈등과 반목의 상황 속에서 맞은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 인류에게 공감은 하나의 유행어가 아니라 생존을 위한 요청이다. 21세기는 “호모 엠파티쿠스”, ‘공감하는 인간’을 요구한다. 고통과 공감의 존재론적, 윤리적 의미를 탐구하고, 나아가 타인의 고통을 자신의 고통으로 수용하고 치유하는 자인 “호모 엠파티쿠스”가 현대사회가 공통으로 경험하는 증오, 대립, 갈등의 문명을 화해, 치유, 통합의 문명으로 변화시킬 수 있는 새로운 인간상임을 이해한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course was designed to cultivate students’ understanding of “Homo Empathicus” as the new human being of the 21st century in the midst of global conflict and antagonism. The basic goal of this course is to introduce students to the ontological and ethical meanings of suffering and empathy. On the basis of humanistic consideration on suffering we seek the way of life based on the ethics of empathy.
